Autumn - Most Popular Season for Weddings

Can’t decide when to get married? Why not get married at the most popular time of the year in the US?

According to The Knot, fall weddings remain the rage for engaged couples wishing to ‘tie the knot’.

What can they expect to see? Centerpieces bursting with fall foliage and winter squash, warm apple cider and hot toddies, and rich color palettes of deep leafy greens and chocolaty browns.

Ooohhhh, coooollll!

“What was once simply a great season to get a discount has become the most sought-after time of year to wed,” says Carley Roney, editor in chief of The Knot. “Couples are attracted to the season’s rustic elegance, majestic landscape, and consistent weather found in most parts of the country.”

In THE KNOT Magazine’s Fall/Winter 2006 issue, Roney encourages couples to take a cue from the season to create a festive atmosphere:

THE DRESS: SEXY LACE
THE INVITATIONS: COLORED ORGANIC PAPERS LETTERPRESSED WITH FALL ICONS
THE FLOWERS AND DECOR: TEXTURE TAKES OVER
THE CUISINE: MINI COMFORT FOODS
THE FAVORS: TRICKS & TREATS

Fall is definitely my favorite season. I love the leaves that blow in the streets, the cool but not cold days, the smell in the air. I just love it. I got married in May, but I would agree that Fall is a great time to schedule a wedding.

Just have to say that I usually hate Christmas lights in non-Christmas decor, but it looks really elegant in the picture above!

I love the fall. I am getting married in Oct 2009. Planning a harvest themed celebration with pumpkins and cornstalks.
