Thinking of having a beach wedding? Why not adopt the Sand Ceremony?

Unity Sand Ceremony

A novel alternative for the popular “unity candle ceremony” incorporated into many of today’s weddings. The essence is to symbolize the union of “two into one. This sand version is not only beautiful and interesting but also more appropriate for an outdoor setting. With the addition of fresh flowers, these distinctive vases will make an intriguing addition to a home’s decor.

Interesting isn’t it?

That’s a really beautiful idea. But I don’t know if I’d want to keep a vase filled with sand around cats and kids and clumsy folks (like me) :-)

We decided to use a white sand as the base of our sand ceremony to represent our Christian faith. Our marriage is being built upon our love of God and what a better way to show our union, but based upon Christ. WE will be using the colors of our wedding as our union colors. We are using Navy, Sage and Cream. My children each will come and pour a small amount of cream colored sand into the vase and Daniel will pour the navy and I the sage. Showing we are joining more than just two lives.

Hi everyone :o) We are having a sand ceremony at our wedding. Not only is it to join us together as a couple but we would like my hubby’s 2 boys to pour sand into the jar as well combining us as a family. We know what colours we are using a neutral colour for the foundations and I will choose a dark red sand and hubby will choose black sand. The problem is i can’t think of what wording we could use to include the boys. I have seen verses for brides and grooms but none to involve the teenage children. Can anybody please help with some suggestions? I would be very gratefull. Thanks heaps, Karen.
