Black and White Wedding Theme Ideas - Please help

One of our ‘Our One Heart’ readers, Krystal would like your help!
HELP!!! I am having a black and white wedding this August 2008. I am having some troubles deciding on an accent color! I love the color red but am afraid that the red will be too drastic with the black and white. My main problem is flowers!!! I was thinking of having all white bouquets and boutenierrs (SATS) with my bouquet being red and my fiance having a red bout. Any suggestions?
I thought the colour red will be a good contrast to the sombre look of the black and white combination. What do you think?

Red would be very dramatic…
pink or lavender would be very deco/classic/elegant

I am also having a black and white wedding in august of this year. My accent colors are the buranna jade and purple turquoise orchid colors. They look fantastic.

I agree that red is a really strong accent color. My favorite accents from black and white occasions are silver or a light pink. Those might not be the greatest for cummerbunds (well, the silver, but then that doesn’t work so much for boutonnières!), but a lighter blue might work as well. As long as the color doesn’t have much brown in it, and isn’t too strong it should work. bright pastels like you see for easter are good choices. good luck!

I am also having a Black and White wedding in October of 08. My accent color was defined when I fell in love with the green cymbidium orchid. The bridemaids are carrying bouquets of this lime green orchid mixed with burgandy tipped orange roses. It looks awesome! Google images of the green cymbidium orchid and there is a picture of a bridal bouquet that is very similar to the ones my girls are carrying. The guys are wearing black on black with a single orchid for the bouts. Hope this give you another option.
