Celebrities can also do low-key weddings

Take a look at what Ellen Pompeo did when she married music producer, Chris Ivery!
Following in the footsteps of low-key celebrities like Matt Damon, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo wed music producer Chris Ivery at City Hall in New York City, November 9, 2007. The Boston Globe reports that the couple, who met at an L.A. grocery store in 2003, were married by a city clerk, with New York mayor Michael Bloomberg stepping in as a witness. Two days after the ceremony, Pompeo and Ivery were spotted courtside at a New York Knicks basketball game. “A wedding is a piece of paper,” Pompeo told reporters in September. “I don’t need a big dress or 400 people to declare my love.”

and Jon Cryer!
For Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer, true love was just around the corner—literally. He was living a block away from his future wife, Lisa Joyner, without realizing it. When the actor spotted her in her yard in 2005, he left her a note. The pair dated for a year before Cryer proposed. “I really wanted our wedding to feel warm and personal,” says Joyner, who invited just 40 close friends and family members to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. And it was. “When Lisa walked toward me,” Cryer says, “the hardest part was not grabbing and kissing each other.”
