Etiquette for Runaway Brides
mLive.com has an entertaining and informative article, Emily Post etiquette for runaway brides, inspired by the events triggered by Jennifer Wilbanks:
“Simple rules on what’s socially acceptable during times of confusion and chaos can save lots of headaches later,” Garrett advises other brides-not-to-be, noting that the Emily Post Foundation, the national arbiter of etiquette, even has rules for calling off a wedding at the last minute.
The article goes on to mention different ideas about wedding cancellations, such as, “The ex-bride and groom do get a break when it comes to informing the invited guests about the change in plans. Notifying everybody is up to their parents and the bridal party. Etiquette dictates these must be personal phone calls, not e-mail.”
I wonder if there will be more runaway brides and/or wedding cancellations from hereon?
