New Zealand voted Ideal Honeymoon Destination

In its annual “Today Throws a Wedding” competition, winners Molly and Jason Waggoner from Playa del Rey in California were married on live television before being whisked off on their seven-day honeymoon. The couple said they were delighted that New Zealand had been chosen as their destination given that they were “looking for adventure”.

The couple flew from Auckland to spend their first night at the Kauri Cliffs Lodge in the Bay of Islands. From there they flew to Whare Kea Lodge in Wanaka and then on to Eichardt’s boutique hotel in Queenstown. The trip was complete with a series of activities, including picnics on private beaches and helicopter trips to the South Island glaciers. It is estimated that the luxury trip is worth about $120,000.
