Renting Wedding Cakes
I didn’t realise even wedding cakes can be rented! Hmm, what a way to save on your wedding costs eh? :-)
A company called Cake Rental.com will rent you a “beautifully designed centerpiece wedding cake” which looks like a real cake, but is actually made of foam!
To fool your guests, there is small compartment into which you can put a portion of real cake for the bride and groom to eat during the ceremony. Once the couple has fed each other, the display cake is taken back into the kitchen and the guests are served regular cake from the local bakery or supermarket.
You can choose from pre-designed cakes like the one pictured (costing a flat $100 plus shipping) or you can design your own around some basic templates.
