One of our readers, Sharon left a comment on my post regarding Bridesmaid dresses:

OH MY GOODNESS! I AM SO INCREDIBLY OVERWHELMED AND DON’T KNOW WHAT TO WHERE OR SAY OR DO FOR MY COUSIN ON HER DAY. I FELT SO GOOD WHEN SHE ASKED ME TO STAND FOR HER AS HER MATRON OF HONOR. NOW I AM SCARED IT IS EXACTLY 1MONTH TIL HER WEDDING AND I DON’T HAVE A DRESS. ANY ADVISE ON WHAT I SHOULD WEAR? PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS INCREDIBLY LARGE RESPONSIBILITY.

Hi Sharon.

What style of dress are you most comfortable in? If the bride is giving you free reign in your matron of honor dress, choose something stylish that is also comfortable to comfortable to the skin. There’s nothing worse than fabric that scratches your skin and will make you itch all day (and night!) long. Not a good look for the MOH.

The dress also has to be comfortable enough to be worn walking around. As MOH, you have a lot of things you have to do for the bride so you’ll be very busy doing your MOH duties and you don’t really want to wear a dress where yes, it is stylish but restricts your ability to walk briskly.

In my case, THIS is what I ended up wearing at my sister’s wedding.

You can also check out Online Discount Bridal for a selection of affordable bridesmaid dresses.

Hope this helps,

Christine
